From Our Kitchen to Yours: 5 Gluten-Free Baking Tips

Published 17 days ago • 2 min read

Does gluten-free baking seem overwhelming? Whether you are new to baking or been at it for years, we are sharing our top 5 tips to creating delicious treats.

These tips will help to achieve perfect results every time and eliminate frustration in the kitchen.

From accurately measuring ingredients to mastering the texture of your treats, these tips are designed to make your gluten-free baking experience both enjoyable and successful.

As a bonus, we share four of our most popular baking recipes before diving into this week's meal plan!

  1. Spoon and Sweep Method: Use a spoon to scoop flour into the measuring cup and then a knife to level out the top of the measuring cup once full to accurately measure gluten free flour blends.
  2. Xanthan Gum: As long as the all-purpose flour blend contains xanthan gum, it does not need to be added. If missing as an ingredient in your preferred blend, add according to the package.
  3. Gluten-Free Flour Choice: Ensure you’re using a high-quality gluten-free flour blend. Not all gluten-free flours are created equal. Some work better than others for specific recipes. Look for a blend designed for baking, or consider making your own blend using rice flour, potato starch, and tapioca starch.
  4. High Altitude Adjustments: If you’re baking at high altitudes, you might need to make adjustments to the recipe. Higher altitudes can affect baking times and rise, so consult a high-altitude baking guide for guidance.
  5. Check for Doneness: Oven temperatures can vary, so use the suggested baking time as a guideline. Check for doneness by inserting a toothpick or skewer into the center of the dessert. It should come out clean.
